Now infections are feared in Romagna. The mud dries up, the waste accumulates in real piles and in various areas the water retreats too slowly.

Ten days after the flood, the restart turns out to be more complicated than expected. Conselice (Ravenna), the town flooded by three rivers, remains the epicenter of the disaster . And the invitation to leave the homes due to the risk of hygiene and health and stagnant water combined with the heat of these days is no longer just an invitation, but an order.

This can be read in the ordinance of the mayor Paola Pula, also shared by the general practitioners of the country: «Our only goal is to safeguard people's health and safety. We are in a difficult situation but, together, we will get through it and I want to thank everyone who is working tirelessly for this. At the moment there are no health emergencies but the stagnation of water, the failure of the sewers, the possible interruptions in the supply of drinking water, the presence of undisposed waste, make it risky to remain in the still flooded town », he explains.

This is also why a vaccination campaign was quickly organized . Yesterday the administrations against tetanus and other infectious diseases continued in the community house of the union of municipalities in lower Romagna. And if in Conselice the problem is still water, in Faenza - where the Lamone has overflowed its banks - the most urgent question is that of waste, so much so that two large areas have been dedicated to the storage of materials . «There are at least 30 thousand tons of memories that the vehicles are removing from the streets affected by the flood. Approaching the immense mountain, you can see pieces of buildings, houses, lives», says the mayor Massimo Isola.
