A rotting corpse and another in conditions that put the possibility of carrying out an autopsy at risk : this is the result of what happened in the dissection room of the San Vito cemetery in Udine , where, for the second time in a few days, serious technical problems occurred.

The first case involved Alessandro Venier, the man killed and dismembered by his mother and partner in Gemona. Due to a mix-up, the body was not removed from the freezer in time, risking delays in the examinations since the remains were still partially frozen. Experts had to wait before they could begin their work.

Yesterday, however, the opposite problem occurred: an autopsy was not possible on a 69-year-old man who died at his home on August 9th after being hit on July 9th and was discharged from the Udine hospital on July 28th. The Prosecutor's Office had appointed a medical examiner, at the family's request, to determine whether the death was related to the road accident or the hospital treatment. But when the examination was about to begin, in the presence of consultants for both sides, it was discovered that the body had already rotted.

The problem at San Vito could impact the outcome of sensitive judicial investigations.
