They are masters of the "hole in the frame" technique. They pierce the frame with a drill, they insert an iron inside and hook the handle, thus opening the door or window and entering the houses of the unfortunate victims, where they steal everything they can. First of all money and jewels.

They are the twins Edmond and Eduard Trushi, 38 years old of Albanian origin, called the "Lupin twins" . Already perpetrators of hundreds of thefts in recent years throughout Italy, but still on the loose due to their incredible resemblance.

In fact they are homozygous twins and never act as a couple: every time they are indicted it ends with an acquittal because it is not possible to establish from the DNA - which is identical between the two - who committed the crimes.

Apparently the two returned to the Udine area - most of their shots are concentrated in the North East - and the carabinieri issued a warning to the population by distributing a photo: " If you see them, call 112 ".

Identical, the Lupine brothers do not even want to distinguish themselves in their look: same clothes, same haircut and same tattoos. Another technique to mislead investigators. Three times they were indicted and acquitted , hence the nickname of Lupin twins as the elusive gentleman thief.

Only recently, thanks to a very modern fingerprint examination, have they managed to frame them. In fact, their fingerprints show slight differences and for this reason they were sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in Mantua, then in Pordenone on appeal to 5 years and 5 months for 41 thefts . But they're still at large, and apparently back in their "favorite hunting area." In fact, in the Udine area several episodes of tampering and engraving on the fixtures have been reported, hence the appeal by the carabinieri .
