"I am Giorgia Meloni." The Prime Minister recorded a four-second audio recording with these four words today at EUIPO, the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

With this move, previewed by the Repubblica website, the prime minister has decided to protect herself from cases of voice cloning using generative artificial intelligence systems. Singer Giusy Ferreri had also done so in recent months.

As can be seen on the EUIPO website, the application, submitted by the Prime Minister through a Rome-based law firm and a Marche-based company specializing in intellectual property protection, is "under examination."

Registration is linked to three types of services, which include downloadable multimedia content, cultural activities, and the organization of political demonstrations.
