«Some guests have complained, can we move you to a separate room?».

This is the absurd question that the Pimpinelli family was asked at the hotel : mother Cecilia, father Remo and their son Tommaso, a 24-year-old boy who is blind and suffers from Norrie syndrome. The three were on holiday in a hotel in San Martino di Castrozza . An uncontaminated place in the upper Primiero valley, in Trentino, much loved by Tommaso.

Everything went well for the first three days. Until, Tommaso recounts via his mother's Facebook page, «guests in the restaurant were annoyed by my presence and complained about it to the innkeeper who offered my parents to have their next meals in a separate room with tinted amber windows . He proposed it to us and not to them... I was treated like a dog not allowed in the common dining room. Obviously we left because it is not pleasant to stay where you are not welcome. Ruined holidays and so much bitterness in the mouth ».

The Pimpinelli family had nothing left to do but pay the bill and leave the hotel. Only after the social media storm did the structure send an apology email . «But I don't accept it, I'm sorry», Cecilia Bonaccorsi told Repubblica: «They did nothing to keep us, it's too easy to try to fix everything with an e-mail. I'm not looking for money, I'm not interested in compensation. I am interested in the cultural battle and my heart aches if I think that, perhaps, some other family could have accepted that proposal. So, in silence, so as not to annoy ».
