There are 4 suspects in the case of the 20-year- old who died yesterday after ten days in a coma following an anaphylactic shock, caused by a tiramisu declared vegan but which instead, this is the hypothesis, contained "milk proteins", a food to which the young was allergic .

The hypothesized crimes are manslaughter, fraud in the exercise of trade and the sale of non-genuine foodstuffs . This was communicated by the Milan prosecutor Marcello Viola. The investigations were delegated to the Nas of the Carabinieri and the Ats. The product was withdrawn from the market following a probative seizure ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by the Police.

The girl had eaten that dessert in a place that specialized in serving food without ingredients of animal origin. The four suspects are part of Glg srl, a company based in the Milan area that produces that "vegan Tiramusin" with the Mascherpa brand: they are the owner, the production manager and two employees .

On the evening of January 26, the girl had gone to dinner at a fast food restaurant that serves vegan burgers in the Corso Garibaldi area in Milan. A place he had frequented many times before. At the end of the meal, she ordered a tiramisu she had never taken before, sure that it did not contain substances of animal origin, let alone milk, as the label clearly stated.

After a few spoonfuls she immediately felt sick and went into anaphylactic shock . Admitted to San Raffaele, she fell into a coma and died yesterday. The twenty-year-old had an allergic hypersensitivity to milk since birth and traces of dairy products were found in that tiramisu jar from the first checks .

The Nas carabinieri were entrusted with further tests to establish the quantity of dairy products present, while the prosecutor ordered the autopsy on the victim's body, which will take place between Thursday and Friday.
