A three-month-old newborn baby was emergency hospitalized with skull injuries at the Gaslini hospital in Genoa.

The serious injuries were caused by the beatings received by the father during an argument that took place last night with the mother in a pizza place in Borzonasca, in the eastern part of Genoa. The woman was also injured while trying to defend her son.

The three were walking when the 26-year-old man started hitting the child and the mother who was holding him. The child was given initial care by some people passing by and by the police.

The woman, with injuries to her face and limbs, was also taken to Gaslini. The 26-year-old was arrested and the judiciary is following the case.
