Fire in a house in Bologna: three children and their mother died

Three children died in a fire that broke out during the night in Bologna. The mother was taken to Maggiore hospital in serious condition, where she died a few minutes later.

The drama occurred in an apartment in via Bertocchi, on the outskirts of the city.

The dead children appear to be twins aged approximately two years and a six-year-old brother. The mother, of Romanian origin, was 32 years old. Police cars intervened on site to help the firefighters, forensics and flying squad.

According to initial investigations, the fire could have started from an electric heater.
