A breakthrough has been reached in the investigation into the double homicide in Mirandola, Modena, where a married couple were found decapitated in their home last night. Daniele Tavoni, 55, has been arrested on suspicion of killing his mother, Vincenza Giannini, 74, originally from Bovino, in the province of Foggia, and her husband, Pier Ferdinando Casari, 83, born in San Felice sul Panaro. According to some reports, the man and the couple had previously argued over financial matters.

The grisly discovery was made late yesterday afternoon in the countryside of Mirandola, a town of about 25,000 inhabitants. The alarm was reportedly raised by several people who reported the presence of the two bodies inside the home. When law enforcement and emergency responders arrived on the scene, they found a dramatic scene.

The area was immediately cordoned off to allow for investigations and prevent unauthorized access. Police, Carabinieri, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. The forensic police are handling the investigation, while the mobile squad is conducting the investigation and coordinating the Modena Public Prosecutor's Office.

The news has shocked the local community. Investigators are trying to piece together the crime and its motive.
