"Don't prepare homilies using artificial intelligence." The Pope said this, jokingly but not entirely, during the closed-door meeting with Roman priests.
AI thus returns to the center of Leo XIV's concerns, who warned priests to make correct use of new technologies and not fall victim to them.
"Resist and don't use artificial intelligence for homilies. Like all the muscles in the body, the brain dies if we don't move it, if we don't use it. It needs to be used," these were his words, according to those present at the meeting. Leo XIV also emphasized that "people want to see your faith, your experience of having loved Jesus Christ and his Gospel, and artificial intelligence will never be able to share that faith."
Finally, the Pope admonished influencer priests: those who "say on TikTok they have lots of likes and followers, but if you're not conveying the message of Jesus Christ, perhaps we're wrong."
