The penalty for femicide is halved because the murderer is a man "really upset and upset by the action taken", so much so as to "raise the alarm and not try to escape".

Thus the Court of Appeal of Florence motivated the sentence that reduced the sentence for femicide to a 32-year-old man from 30 to 16 years, for the granting of extenuating circumstances.

The crime took place on November 24, 2018 in a Florentine hostel after the quarrel between the man, originally from Myanmar, and his partner, a 21-year-old Chinese.

"It is necessary to enhance the psychological profile of the behavior" of the accused in the immediacy of the fact according to the judges, a reaction that "is worth much more than the many repentances and requests for forgiveness heralded in the hearing after days if not months".
