Pd senator Bruno Astorre, who died this morning while he was in his office in Palazzo Cenci, took his own life by jumping out of the window.
The general secretary of Palazzo Madama and the head of the Senate State Police Inspectorate entered the building, access to which was closed. Then the forensics also arrived for the reliefs.
In front of the building there is a fire engine. According to what is learned, Astorre had already expressed suicidal intentions in recent weeks.
Senator since 2013, Astorre has been secretary of the Lazio Democratic Party since 2018. He would have turned 60 on March 11. He was married to Francesca Sbardella, mayor elected with the Frascati Democratic Party.
«I remain astonished at the tragic news of Bruno Astorre's death. I can't find words in the face of such a drama. There is silence. There is prayer. I hug you to your loved ones », tweeted the former Pd secretary Enrico Letta.
The prosecutor investigates for instigation to suicide.
