The bear F36 , climbed   in the limelight for the sampling order signed by the governor of Trentino, Maurizio Fugatti, she was found dead by the staff of the forestry corps of the Province of Trento in the municipality of Sella Giudicarie.

The specimen, which was to be captured and locked up in the Trento wildlife center, had been seen in the company of a puppy on two occasions.

It was the radio collar he was equipped with that alerted the specialized provincial staff who followed his movements by activating the mortality sensor. The bear, accidentally captured in the past during the collection operations of another bear and equipped with identification marks, had been identified by genetic analyzes as being responsible for the attack which occurred last 30 July in the Mandrel area, in the Giudicarie, against of two young people. During the attack, one of the boys was chased and thrown to the ground by the animal as he tried to escape by climbing a tree.

The episode ended without further assaults, and the hiker managed to escape. However, a few days later, F36 was spotted again in Dos del Gal by two other climbers, who then reported its aggressive attitude. In this case, the bear's behavior was deemed by experts to be a "false attack". The two episodes led Fugatti to sign the culling order at the beginning of the month, which was then suspended by the Trento TAR due to the appeal of animal rights associations.

The administrative judge, in consideration of the Province's report and the Ispra opinion, however ordered the capture of the specimen pending the collegial session.

Now the discovery of the carcass: from the first external examination it was not possible to make any hypothesis on the causes of death. However, animal rights associations fear the act of poaching and announce an appeal to the Trento Public Prosecutor's Office.
