The control room in Palazzo Chigi ended after about an hour and a half. The orientation that emerged is to impose the vaccination obligation for those over 50 and to extend the obligation of the reinforced green pass to other areas. The Council of Ministers should take place at 5.30 pm.

The meeting chaired by Mario Draghi started around 3pm.

Roberto Speranza, for the Pd Dario Franceschini, for the Lega Massimo Garavaglia, for Italia Viva Elena Bonetti, for Forza Italia Maria Stella Gelmini and for M5S Fabiana Dadone took part. Also present were the ministers of Pa Brunetta, of the Economy Franco and of the Bianchi School, as well as the president of the ISS Silvio Brusaferro and the coordinator of the Cts Franco Locatelli.

In particular, the parties of the majority met to find an agreement on the measures to be taken to contain the resurgence of the epidemic: measures on the world of work (hypothesis super green pass for all workers or for certain categories, smart working), on vaccination obligation and the new protocols in view of the restart of the school.

Moreover, yesterday, during the Conference of the Regions, the hypothesis of compulsory vaccination for the over 60 (or over 50) appeared, now also supported by the League which is instead opposed to the super green pass at work. There are 1.2 million in Italy over 60 who are not vaccinated, the category that fills the intensive care wards the most.

Instead, the Pd, Italia Viva, Forza Italia and Minister Speranza are all for the general obligation. Doubts about the obligation were expressed instead by the M5S leader Giuseppe Conte.

In the end, according to what is learned, a middle line prevailed, the line of obligation for the over 50s.
