The judge for preliminary investigations Giusy Barbara did not validate the preventive seizure of 4 million euros against Irene Pivetti and one of her consultants.

The former president of the Chamber is among the suspects for money laundering, self-laundering and tax fraud as part of an investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office on a series of commercial transactions, in particular the sale of 3 Ferrari Gran Turismo, which would have been used to launder proceeds from tax evasion.

As legal sources have disclosed, the release from seizure was ordered and the sum returned to the two suspects.

The provision dates back to last November 18, at the same time as the notice of closure of the investigations against Pivetti and six other people: the consultant Pier Domenico Peirone, the rally driver and former Gran Turismo champion Leonardo "Leo" Isolani, his wife Manuela Mascoli, her daughter Giorgia Giovannelli, the notary Francesco Maria Trapani and another entrepreneur.

The amount that the prosecutor had blocked and which has now been returned is 3 and a half million attributable to the Northern League exponent and 500 thousand euros to the professional. The investigating judge would not have shared the legal approach of the Prosecutor, believing that the predicate offense of the disputed facts must have a different qualification.
