Alert in Italian cities ahead of Christmas and New Year.

The Department of Public Security has sent a circular to all the Prefects, where it is underlined that many people will crowd squares, clubs and restaurants especially on New Year's Eve and therefore, «in consideration of the current delicate international political context, characterized by the worsening of tensions, especially in the Middle Eastern area, which have increased the risk of terrorist actions", these celebrations "represent events to pay particular attention to from the point of view of protecting public order and safety".

A further strengthening of the control and protection devices of the territory is therefore expected, with particular attention to the central areas and those most frequented by the population.
