There was a long tug-of-war yesterday in the Council of Ministers over the vaccination obligation extended to all employees of the Public Administration.

In the end Mario Draghi decided to take his time and postpone the final decision to the next few weeks.

It was Brunetta who pushed for the obligation, he would like it for all workers. Dragons and Hope in favor, even Italia Viva, were M5S and above all Lega to express all their perplexities. The dem ministers also expressed doubts, in particular on the feasibility of the measure and on the choice to impose vaccines only on public employees and not on private individuals.

It was certainly the thorniest passage of the meeting, so much so that it was the only point on which the decision was postponed. Someone proposed to identify all those categories of workers most in contact with the public, in the end it was decided to wait another couple of weeks. With an eye to the epidemiological curve, increasingly uphill.

There are also disputes over the decision to ban non-vaccinated consumption over the counter until the end of March, but also over the closure of discos until the end of January. The League made the barricades but then had to yield, obtaining the reassurance of adequate refreshments for the category.

Also from the Carroccio, through Giorgetti, came the request to put a stop to the spread of virologists and experts on TV.
