South Tyrol: A dramatic accident on the Pusteria Valley highway kills a 44-year-old man from Quartu.
Sebastiano Borrelli was traveling in a van that crashed into a heavy goods vehicle. Rescue efforts were unsuccessful.

Tragedy on the Pusteria Valley state road , in the Sciaves area.
Yesterday evening, for reasons still under investigation , a semi-trailer and a van collided head-on. The violent impact resulted in serious damage to both vehicles, and the van's passenger died after becoming trapped in the wreckage.
The victim is a 44-year-old from Quartu Sant'Elena, Sebastiano Borrelli.
The firefighters secured the area and provided fire protection , then carried out the complex technical rescue operations in collaboration with the medical emergency services.
Once the rescue operations were concluded, the firefighters supported the recovery of the heavily damaged vehicles and the subsequent roadway reclamation work.
During the intervention, the Pusteria State Road was completely closed to traffic for several hours. In addition to the volunteer firefighters of Sciaves and Rio di Pusteria, emergency medical services, including emergency physicians, and law enforcement officers responded to the scene to conduct legal investigations.
