A 44-year-old man, Ahmed Musthak, was arrested by the police in Genoa on charges of killing his wife, 32-year-old Sharmin Sultana.

The woman fell from the window of her house and onto the street last March in via Emanuele Ferro, in the Sestri Ponente district, near the Fincantieri factory where her husband worked. At first she thought about suicide, in the house there were her children and her husband, who said he hadn't heard anything because he wasn't well and was in bed.

The victim's family members had immediately expressed doubts about the man, then also thanks to the couple's children the investigators reconstructed the facts differently and arrested Musthak nine months later.

The man, the prosecution claims, was also discovered thanks to a drawing made by his eldest son. He harassed his wife daily, was jealous and oppressive. According to what her children reported, even the youngest ones, he beat her because she was on her phone and making videos on Tik Tok. "Dad got angry and hit mom's head on the ground", is one of their dramatic testimonies.

Sharmin, the investigators reconstructed, had also decided to look for a job but her husband did not agree. Furthermore, during an environmental wiretap, Musthak allegedly told his daughter, before being interviewed by investigators, "say you don't know anything about mom".
