There will be a new appeal trial for the Arce (Frosinone) crime in which Serena Mollicone died in June 2001 .

The judges of the Court of Cassation decided this by accepting the request of the Attorney General of the Court of Appeal of Rome against the acquittal of the former commander of the Arce barracks, Franco Mottola, of his wife Anna Maria and of his son Marco who were accused of the crime .

The Attorney General spoke of a "macro flaw" in the appeal ruling due to a lack of motivation: it is "a totally lacking ruling" and has a "Pilatesque attitude" . What was crystallized by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of the Capital, the Attorney General added, " fails to motivate Mollicone's presence that morning in the Arce barracks . A plurality of clues were not evaluated in a unitary manner".

"My thoughts go to my sister who I will never see again in my life, as well as my father. We trust in the justice that we have been waiting for for 24 years. From today we have hope ," commented Consuelo, sister of Serena Mollicone .
