In Lombardy, the first assisted suicide managed by the health service

Lombardy has seen the first case of assisted suicide entirely managed by the regional health service. Domenico Zuccarella, 59, suffering from secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, died on August 25 after receiving assistance from the Lombardy Regional Health Service. As the Luca Coscioni Association explains, this is the third person in Lombardy to access voluntary death, and the first case in which the Regional Health Service organized the entire implementation phase, including healthcare, the necessary medication and equipment, and the identification of the location.
