Lifeguard drowns with the man he was rescuing
The tragedy occurred in the Savona area. The man had already saved the victim's wife, then dived in again.

A lifeguard and a tourist died at sea today during a rescue attempt.
It happened in Andora, in the Savona area, shortly before noon. A man and his wife were swimming when they got into trouble. The lifeguard dived in and managed to bring the woman to shore, then returned to the sea to rescue her husband, but the rescue proved difficult and the two were unable to return to shore: both drowned.
