Sardinian pensioner found dead at home, tragedy of loneliness in the Reggio area

Tragedy of loneliness in the province of Reggio Emilia. An 81-year-old Sardinian was found dead in his home in Casina. When the firefighters forced the door they found him in the kitchen, now lifeless.

The death , attributable to natural causes, had occurred at least 10 days earlier . The social services staff raised the alarm: Roberto Pilu did not want to be followed by them because, he explained, he wanted to be independent. But every now and then he received their calls and when he didn't answer for days, the suspicion was born that something had happened.

The pensioner lived alone, no one had noticed the drama.
