Unconfirmed arrest and house arrest with electronic bracelet for Cinzia Dal Pino , the 65-year-old entrepreneur from Viareggio arrested on charges of voluntary homicide of 47-year-old Said Malkoun, who was hit by a car several times on Sunday evening in Viareggio.

This morning, the woman had a hearing in Pisa prison to validate her arrest. The Prosecutor's Office had requested the measure of precautionary custody in prison, while the defense attorney Enrico Marzaduri had asked that precautionary measures not be applied or at most that they be alternatives to prison.

Cinzia Dal Pino, aboard her Mercedes SUV , repeatedly hit the 47-year-old Algerian, crushing him against a shop window after he had snatched her bag . She then got out of the car, recovered the stolen goods and drove away, leaving the man dying on the ground. Rescue efforts were in vain.

" I wanted to get the bag back, not kill ," the woman said in a spontaneous statement to the investigating judge. Dal Pino retraced what happened Sunday evening, from the dinner with friends to the man who stole her bag. Her goal was only to get back what she had stolen, she said, specifying that she had not been threatened with a knife but that the 47-year-old had told her he would use it if she had not given him the bag. As far as we know, the police did not find any weapons on the man. Dal Pino said he did not call the police because the phone was in the stolen bag.
