«Liliana Resinovich's body will be exhumed to proceed with a new autopsy». This was announced on the television show "Quarto Grado" by the former general of the Carabinieri Ris, Luciano Garofano, now consultant to the husband of the woman who disappeared from her home in via Verrocchio, in Trieste, on 14 December 2021 and was found lifeless on 5 January following.

The macabre discovery was made a short distance from the couple's home, in the San Giovanni park: the woman's body was stuffed into two large bags and her head was closed in two plastic bags.

A story that still remains shrouded in many questions.

After long investigations and numerous tests of various types, the Prosecutor's Office had supported the hypothesis that Liliana had committed suicide but the investigating judge of the Court Luigi Dainotti had not accepted the consequent request for dismissal, instead ordering a long series of in-depth investigations. The Prosecutor's Office therefore commissioned the forensic anthropologist Cristina Cattaneo to carry out an assessment on the woman's body to establish the cause of death.

Despite the announcement on TV, the request for exhumation has not yet been made official by the Trieste Prosecutor's Office.

From what we learn, in the event of the green light from the magistrates, the body would be subjected to new autopsy tests in the hope that new elements useful for the investigations could be revealed.
