New record of landings in Italy: over 2,700 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean or landed on Italian coasts in the last 24 hours. Of these, more than 2,000 landed in Lampedusa .

And the budget, given the reports at sea, is destined to rise further.

In the Italian Sar area, 2,200 migrants have already been rescued under the coordination of the Coast Guard, others have arrived on board the Geo Barents of Doctors Without Borders, others still have reached our coasts with various autonomous landings.

At the hotspot in the Imbriacola district, in Lampedusa, there are currently 1,831 guests compared to just under 400 places .

Among the people landed there are several women and minors. Almost all of them left Tunisia and come from sub-Saharan African countries .

Yesterday yet another tragedy occurred just off the coast of Tunisia , with 34 migrants who are missing (and four rescued) after the shipwreck on which they were traveling to Italy.

While the story of a group of Tunisians highlights a new phenomenon: the do-it-yourself trips of those who, instead of relying on smugglers, buy a boat and venture into the Mediterranean in search of fortune .
