"I did not attempt to kill my husband by giving him rat poison."

Thus a 46-year-old Moldovan woman, residing in Romagna , rejected the accusation of attempted murder before the investigating judge for having tried to serve her husband - a 54-year-old Albanian - poisoned meals.

Defense by the lawyer Luca Greco, of the Rimini Court, during the guarantee interrogation, the woman, arrested last Wednesday, however, would not have been able to explain why her husband was hospitalized following illness and why the tests found in his body traces of Bromadiolone and Coumatetralyl, active ingredients contained in rat poisons. Nor why, at the time of the house search, the police found a syringe containing a red substance in the couple's apartment, in a bedroom drawer.

"My client - said the lawyer - was questioned yesterday, and was collaborative throughout the interview." From what is learned, the woman allegedly said, in her defense, that she and her partner always used to eat together and that she made the portions directly on the table.

The two spouses had separated for some time, and then formally reconciled in the Municipality about a year ago.
