The twelve-year-old disabled girl whose German Spitz was stolen by burglars last Saturday in Acerra (Naples) was reunited with her dog. The girl's father, Rosario, said this, emphasizing that late yesterday evening he received an anonymous phone call in which the thieves announced that they had left the dog, Maui, near the gate.

“They said, with a foreign accent, that they were giving it back for the little girl,” Rosario said, “they said ‘you see, we are thieves, but honest ones’.”

Italy moved "for my daughter Miriam, so they made it. Thank you so much to everyone, my daughter is crying with happiness."

The parent's appeal had been shared by hundreds of people in a few hours, including the mayor Tito d'Errico, who hoped for Maui's return home to "give back the smile to the dear daughter" of his fellow citizen.

The dog had been left alone in the house for a few hours on Saturday evening. When he returned, Rosario noticed that the dog was missing and that the apartment had been stolen. He immediately alerted the police and filed a complaint. After that, he started looking for the dog, and then made a heartfelt and desperate appeal to the thieves. Who picked him up.
