A misadventure , fortunately with a happy ending, for a French father who was spending the holidays with his underage daughters in Italy.

During one of his trips, on August 12th, the man stopped at the Paganella Est service station, along the A22 Brenner motorway . After the stop , he drove off believing that his daughters, aged 8 and 10, were sleeping in the back seat of the car . However, no, the minors had lingered in the refreshment area of the service station.

It was the service station staff who noticed the two little sisters, disoriented and alone. Both were calm, but lost, and unable to communicate in Italian. At that point, the alarm was raised and the traffic police were contacted. A patrol from the Trento sub-section arrived immediately and took charge of the girls.

Not without difficulty, the two officers who intervened managed to obtain the cell phone number and call the father, who was continuing his journey undisturbed toward the border . The distracted parent then immediately turned back, while the Highway Patrol also managed to contact the mother. The parents of the two little sisters are separated and have joint custody, but in recent days, the father had been the sole caregiver.

The woman, also on vacation in Italy, reached the service station within four hours and was finally able to hug her daughters with a sigh of relief.

The incident was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Juvenile Court of Trento.
