A 20-year-old Palestinian woman who arrived less than 24 hours earlier from Gaza on a military flight from the 46th Air Brigade as part of the Italian government's humanitarian operation to provide enhanced medical assistance to Palestinian civilians affected by the conflict died yesterday in Pisa.

Marah Abu Zuhri arrived in a state of severe malnutrition, even though Netanyahu says there is no hunger in the Strip . The 20-year-old landed on the night between August 13 and 14 from an Air Force C130J that had departed from Eilat with other Palestinian patients and their families.

Taken to the Cisanello hospital, the young woman was admitted as an emergency but her condition immediately appeared very critical .

The University Hospital of Pisa (AOUP) expresses its "deepest condolences" for the young woman's death. "The girl," it said in a statement, "had arrived in Italy from the Gaza Strip, accompanied by her mother, as part of a humanitarian operation, with a very compromised medical condition and a state of profound organic deterioration."

Yesterday, "after having performed the initial necessary tests and started supportive therapy, a sudden respiratory crisis and subsequent cardiac arrest occurred, which, unfortunately, led to the young woman's death . The company reported the tragic event to the prefecture, which promptly activated the necessary procedures for the subsequent fulfillment of its duties."
