The police arrested Pietro Polizzi, Forza Italia's candidate at the Palermo City Council for next Sunday's elections, for electoral exchange between the political and mafia .

According to the Prosecutor's Office, to be elected he would have made a pact with the bosses of the Auditor , the builders Sansone, historical allies of Salvatore Riina who hosted the "Chief of Chiefs" in one of their villas in the last period of the boss's inaction.

Polizzi, former provincial councilor at the time elected with the UDC, ended up in his cell. Also arrested Agostino Sansone, brother of Gaetano, owner of the villa in Via Bernini where Riina spent the last months before his arrest in 1993 , and one of his collaborators.

Against the aspiring municipal councilor there are some environmental interceptions that have led the Prosecutor to ask for the measure of pre-trial detention in prison. Conversations from which the "electoral pact" between the exponent of Fi and Sansone would emerge clearly.

A flash investigation, lasting less than a month. Investigators searched the builder's house and offices, including some properties located in the residential complex in via Bernini, the same where Riina was housed.

Right from there the godfather came out before being arrested, a den at the center of mysteries and a long trial of the former carabinieri del Ros who arrested the boss of Corleone, then acquitted. The surveillance of the villa by the Ros, inexplicably, after a few days of Riina's arrest was interrupted and the building was cleaned by the men of Cosa Nostra who, as the repentants tell, would have even whitened the walls making all traces of their presence disappear of Riina and her family.
