The relationship lasted only a few months. And when it was over, the increasingly serious threats from him to his ex began, contained in a string of text messages.

"If you don't come back with me I'll have you raped", "I'll have the sockets ripped out of your eyes", "you'll only be saved if you call me".

The escalation culminated, a few days before Christmas, in a physical attack. But the man, a 34-year-old from Rome, was arrested by the police on charges of persecution and injury.

The investigations were triggered by the complaint of the victim, a girl with whom he had had a brief relationship and who, after the threatening messages, was attacked outside her home, in the Centocelle neighbourhood. So, scared, she decided to tell everything to the police.

The investigators found that the man, who had no criminal record, immediately began to threaten his ex with increasingly serious messages at the end of the relationship which lasted only a few weeks. Intimidation that went as far as pretending to have a weapon available. In a photo acquired by investigators, in fact, the 34-year-old was holding a black object in his hand that appeared to be a gun. During a search of his home it was later discovered that it was a tattoo machine.

Close to Christmas, the transition from words to deeds. He waited for the girl outside the house and, in an attempt to kiss her against her will, he bit her and then pushed her to the ground. Only at that point was the complaint made, the 34-year-old was taken to the Regina Coeli prison and then the investigating judge, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, validated the arrest by placing him under house arrest.
