He was not satisfied with his young son's performance on the soccer field and, for this reason, once home he subjected him to very tough "training" sessions that also involved the use of a stick.

This is also among the charges brought against a 46-year-old nurse charged in court in Turin with domestic abuse.

At the time of the events, the boy was 8 years old, played in the youth team of a Piedmontese club and, according to what was said in court, during the "sessions" he complained, cried and screamed in pain amidst his father's exhortations ("Come on, come on!").

The defendant was described by prosecution witnesses as "oppressive" towards his partner (with whom he was also violent) and his children; he was a fanatic about physical fitness and designer clothes and expected others to do only what he wanted.

The boy's uncle, the brother of the defendant's partner, who lived downstairs, testified in court: "I could hear the boy's footsteps running and jumping, but I couldn't imagine what it was. When he slept at our house, his father would sometimes come down at 7 a.m. and throw him out of bed to exercise. He would come back downstairs feeling dejected and silent. I remember one day his face was as if he were petrified."

The investigation began on February 24, 2023, when the witness requested the intervention of law enforcement. "A few days earlier," he told the judge, "my sister had finally decided to tell me what was happening in the family. The situation had reached unbearable levels. That evening, she called me and told me to contact the police. My nephew reluctantly went to soccer. When he was no longer forced to, he stopped altogether."
