After five months of investigations, the alleged murderer of Mauro Di Giacomo, the 63-year-old physiotherapist killed on the street in Bari on 18 December, was arrested.

This is a 60-year-old man, resident in Canosa di Puglia, already known to the police.

The man, who has now been taken to prison, apparently had some disagreements with the victim which resulted in the crime. At the moment the possibility of revenge linked to a betrayal or a romantic relationship has been excluded.

Di Giacomo, married and father of two children, had been shot dead in a small car park

steps from his home, in the Poggiofranco district.
