Giulia Tramontano was killed with 37 stab wounds. The coroner Nicola Galante explained this before the Court of Assizes of Milan during the trial of Alessandro Impagnatiello , who confessed to the murder of his pregnant girlfriend.

The 29-year-old died "due to massive acute hemorrhage" caused by "cervico-thoracic injuries" inflicted with a sharp weapon. The death of the fetus "follows the death of the mother, caused by vascular insufficiency caused by maternal hemorrhage" .

There were no "defense injuries" on the body of the victim, hit by the former barman in their home in Senago. Furthermore, Giulia was unable to scream for help because she was "hit in the larynx" .

Today, images of the woman's body were projected in the courtroom, and that part of the hearing was held behind closed doors.

The toxicologist Mauro Minoli was also heard, who reported that in the last month of Giulia's life there was "an increase" in the administration of bromadiolone, a rat poison with which, according to the prosecution, Impagnatiello tried to kill his girlfriend several times, before doing so last May 27 with 37 stab wounds.

For the expert "it is impossible to say how much time has passed since the first administration". What is certain, however, was that the hiring took place "over the course of at least two and a half months".

Responding to questions from prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, the toxicologist explained that the rat poison has a bitter taste , not perceived by rodents but essential to prevent it from being accidentally ingested by humans. Among the side effects of the poison, there is also stomach pain , as the substance can cause small hemorrhages in the stomach.

According to what emerged from the investigations, already in December 2022 Giulia was complaining about stomach pain in chat and, according to what her sister Chiara also testified in the last hearing, "Giulia said that everything she ate tasted absurd" .
