Repeated episodes of stalking and repeated attacks, such as the one on the island of Elba when she was later rescued by some friends and taken to Sardinia.

Several acts of violence are now being attributed to Gianluca Soncin, the 52-year-old now in prison for the murder of Pamela Genini, the 29-year-old killed with more than 30 stab wounds on October 14th in her apartment on Via Iglesias in Milan, a homicide aggravated by cruelty and premeditation.

Interviews with people familiar with the matter begin today at the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office. These testimonies will be useful to police investigators, coordinated by Deputy Chief of Police Letizia Mannella and Prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, in reconstructing the year and a half of violence, beatings, and harassment perpetrated by the man who then threatened to kill her and her mother whenever Genini tried to leave him. The hearings began late this morning, following a meeting between investigators, also in preparation for a flurry of document acquisitions, always to find evidence of the abuse against the 29-year-old : from the gun pointed at her stomach to a broken finger, to an attempted stabbing and an attack in a hotel on the island of Elba during a vacation, when Soncin—according to the account of her ex-boyfriend and friend, Francesco, who spoke to her on the phone in her final moments—even attempted to "throw her off the balcony."

Soncin had beaten her "with kicks and punches," the documents state, "as well as threatening her with broken glass in the hotel room" and "telling her he would kill her." At that point, Genini had managed to "contact hotel staff," who, upon intervention, had persuaded Soncin to desist, and he was sent away. She was then joined by Andrea, with whom she had had a romantic relationship and had remained on good terms, and by her friend Elisa, who took her with them to Sardinia.

In addition to the phone records and an investigation into Soncin's life, business, and recent movements, the Prosecutor's Office will have to gather all the documentation regarding the beating Genini suffered at Soncin's home in Cervia in September 2024, including the medical report from the hospital in Seriate, in the province of Bergamo, where the young woman showed up with a broken finger and spoke of the abuse she had suffered, but did not subsequently report it . The Bergamo Prosecutor's Office is investigating potential shortcomings in the failure to activate protection procedures, the "red code," and an investigation into Soncin between Bergamo and Ravenna. Currently, the file has no allegations of crime or suspects.
