Palio di Siena, Tittia in the legend: fifth consecutive victory for Nurri's jockey

Nurri 's jockey, on Violenta da Clodia , wins the 2023 edition of the Palio di Siena for the Contrada della Selva and brings his number of total victories in the historic race to 10. Not only that: for him it is the fifth consecutive triumph . A record in the history of the Palio.

Tittia, 38, dominated the race – which began after more than half an hour of anxious waiting before the fateful “move” – chased in vain by Zio Frac, a horse from the Contrada della Torre ridden by Giuseppe Zedde , known as Gingillo, a jockey from Noragugume.

A real "dictatorship", by now, that of Atzeni in Piazza del Campo: from 2019 to today, except for the stop imposed on the Palio by the pandemic, Tittia has always triumphed, in order: for the Giraffe in July 2019, for the Selva in August 2019, for the Drago in July 2022, for the Leocorno in August 2022 (always mounting Violenta da Clodio) and again in the Palio on 2 July 2023.
