Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, Police Chief Vittorio Pisani, and law enforcement officials met this morning at the Prefecture in Milan to review the weekend's unrest and define countermeasures. The provincial committee for public order and safety, convened by Prefect Renato Sgaraglia at Palazzo Diotti, also attended by Mayor Giuseppe Sala, Police Commissioner Bruno Megale, and Undersecretary of the Interior Nicola Molteni. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini was also present, a surprise.

At the end of the meeting, Sala sounded the alarm about Saturday, a day that could prove particularly delicate for the city. "There's concern because there's a fear that there might be some people in the square who resemble those who were there over the weekend, some who will fight against this presence, and then anarchists," the mayor explained. "So Saturday could be a delicate day for the city," he added. "I don't want to urge residents and tell them to 'stay home,' but Saturday could be a delicate day." Finally, he concluded, "It will be the first test to see if we can manage things differently."
