Overwhelmed and killed by the train, railway traffic haywire between Milan and Piacenza

Tragedy in Secugnago (Lodi).

A man has died after being hit by a train at a train station. The incident took place at 7 this morning.

The repercussions on the circulation of convoys along the Milan-Piacenza axis were heavy , given the rush hour in which the accident occurred, with slowdowns especially between Codogno and Lodi and commuters waiting in the stations. Trenitalia has announced that Intercity and regional trains will still be able to suffer delays (with journey times of up to 100 minutes), limitations and route changes.

Railway police officers and firefighters attended the scene. Rescue efforts were useless, the man died instantly. The crash victim has not yet been identified.
