A big load of cocaine hidden among the bunches of bananas. It is the discovery, at the port of Civitavecchia, of the financiers of the Provincial Command of Rome, in collaboration with the staff of the Customs Agency.

The drug, crammed into vacuum-packed cellophane blocks, came from South America.

The discovery when the soldiers of the Yellow Flames selected and inspected a load, guided by the infallible nose of the anti-drug dog "Pes".

The quantity of drugs, one of the largest ever intercepted in the port, would have yielded over 170 million euros in the drugstore squares.

Investigations are underway to identify those responsible and rebuild the cocaine supply channels.

The operation - explains the GdF - is part of the broader device to combat illicit trafficking put in place by the Rome Finance Police in the airports and ports of access to the capital.
