An 81-year-old woman, Annamaria Burrini, was killed in her apartment in Siena.

The firefighters, who entered the house after being alerted by neighbors who had heard "a loud noise", discovered the body. Immediately after the police intervened with the forensics for the reliefs and an investigation for murder was immediately opened.

The woman - who lived alone - was on the ground, the house totally turned upside down . The old woman was strangled with a lace or a rope and no sign of forced entry was found on the front door of the house. Apparently the woman was renting out some rooms in her apartment.

And in the evening, a suspect was arrested at the end of a long interrogation at the police station.
