As the hours pass, the hypothesis seems to take shape more and more that Angelo Onorato, a 56-year-old architect from Palermo, husband of MEP Francesca Donato, found dead yesterday in the car with an electrician's cable tie tied around his throat, took his own life and did not was the victim of a murder.

There are still many issues to be resolved in a matter that appears very complex to investigators, but the results of the first investigations carried out by the police would suggest an extreme gesture. Which does not convince the man's wife and daughter at all who, on the contrary, continue to talk about the crime, categorically denying the idea that Onorato killed himself.

«There is a series of objective and subjective considerations that lead the family to exclude that it was a suicide. We are convinced that the Palermo Prosecutor's Office will arrive at the same conclusions": this was declared by the lawyer Vincenzo Lo Re of the Palermo Court, appointed by Donato to follow the investigations.

It was the two women, wife and daughter, who found the body. Concerned that the family member, who had gone out for an appointment, had not returned home, they located him through the iPhone and tracked down the vehicle, an SUV, parked on the side of via Minutilla, a rather busy road that runs parallel to the motorway to Mazara del Vallo.

"My husband didn't take his own life," I doubt the MEP who was interviewed by the Flying Squad last night said. And the professional's daughter was also clear who, in a post on Facebook, wrote: «News travels at the speed of light and is often inaccurate, so I feel the need to specify how things are. My father did not commit suicide."
