The driver of the truck that hit and killed a woman who was crossing the street with her two one-year-old twin children in Milan this morning, between via Scarampo and via Serra, has been arrested for road homicide . The children and their grandmother who was with them are safe. The case is being followed by the on-duty prosecutor Paola Biondolillo and the prosecutor Marcello Viola.

According to the reconstruction of the facts, the victim - a 34-year-old Peruvian - was crossing a traffic light while pushing a stroller with her children, when the truck turned right and hit her.

The children were in a double stroller that was not hit by the heavy vehicle. The 118 rescuers, who immediately intervened on the scene, could not do anything to save the woman's life.
