Mistreated by her husband for 20 years, she finally decides to report

Twenty years of mistreatment without ever reporting until the police guaranteed her that they would protect her.

The application of the "Code Red" was triggered for a woman who arrived at the emergency room with rib fractures and head injuries. “I fell down the stairs,” she told the doctors at the Spaziani hospital in Frosinone, who however – not considering the injuries compatible with a domestic accident but suspecting an assault – notified the police.

Thus was discovered the history of violence in the family that had lasted for about twenty years, revealed by the victim only when the specialists of the police commissioner Domenico Condello assured her that she would be protected by the police.

Once the elements confirming the story had been gathered, the officers delivered a report on the basis of which the police commissioner issued a ban with immediate effect on the husband from approaching his wife within two hundred metres. The man - a fifty-year-old entrepreneur from a local municipality - is also forbidden to call her, contact her by message or via the Internet. The couple has a 15-year-old son.
