Christian Solinas and Nello Musumeci "must resign" if they do not defend their citizens. The independent MEP Francesca Donato lashes out against the presidents of the two regions - Sardinia and Sicily respectively -. With a video posted on social media, he protests against the "Festivity decree" and asks Sardinian and Sicilian citizens to invite the governors to take a stand "in defense of the rights" of those who have chosen not to be vaccinated and who will be "practically exiled in the coming days in their regions ".

"Next January 10 - explains Donato - the most disconcerting and unfair provision in the history of the Italian Republic will come into force: the decree law 221/2021, known as the Festivity decree. According to its provision, millions of Italian citizens will be denied, for exclusively political and seriously discriminatory reasons, the fundamental rights guaranteed by art. 16 of the Constitution, such as freedom of movement within the territory of the Republic and that of staying in places other than one's own Municipality of residence. The case of the Islands is made even more serious in how much without access to public transport the residents are in fact exiled ".

"Musumeci and Solinas - he continues - must act in defense of the constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights of Sicilians and Sardinians, any hesitation in this sense would be complicity towards an antidemocratic system and detrimental to personal freedoms and would require their immediate resignation".
