Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni spent the afternoon visiting, with a very small delegation, the towns of the Forlì and Ravenna areas, particularly affected by the flood.

The prime minister left the G7 summit in Japan a day early because, she said, "my conscience requires me to return".

After landing at Rimini airport, she went by car to see the damage caused by the flood.

Meanwhile, the Minister of the Environment, Gilberto Pichetto, spoke of the disaster in Half an hour more: «There was an alarm, there was a preventive action, the schools were closed. But the imponderable has happened», he underlined, adding that in the face of climate change in progress, «we must be ready for alarms». According to the minister, citizens too must be "more aware".
