Marco Cappato, treasurer of the Luca Coscioni Association, was hospitalized on New Year's Day at the Parini hospital in Aosta due to an illness. The news leaked today: the 52-year-old activist was in the Alpine region when he felt ill and was taken to the emergency room by ambulance.

«Here's where I spent New Year's Eve: in the emergency room of the U. Parini hospital in Aosta! I was discharged today, after being hospitalized "following a problem of cardiac origin which produced a neurological ischemic disorder". Serious stuff, but not serious ,” he wrote on X.

According to the medical bulletin, he was hospitalized, as reported by Cappato himself, "following a problem of cardiac origin which produced a neurological ischemic discrepancy in the function of articulating speech alone, which is currently clearly improving ". Cappato «carried out the tests that confirmed the clinical picture and received the appropriate therapy. Subjected to brain resonance imaging which confirmed the modest extent of the ischemic damage."

«In a clinical picture - writes Dr. Riccio, anesthesiologist and general advisor of the Luca Coscioni association - although reassuring and improving, Marco Cappato - already discharged today - still requires an adequate period of rest and treatment. Given that the problem that caused the cerebral ischemia was probably caused by the presence of the patent cardiac Foramen ovale, in the next few weeks Marco Cappato will undergo - electively - its closure". Dr. Riccio thanks «all the operators of the cardiology and neurology departments - the latter directed by Dr. Susanna Scordera - of the Umberto Parini hospital in Aosta for the professionalism and availability shown. Special thanks to Dr. Laura Caligiana."

Benedetto Della Vedova's best wishes on social media : «Go Marco! - writes the +Europa deputy - the Italy of freedom rights and people's responsibility for their own destiny is in great need of your determination and your initiatives which have pushed it forward. But not enough yet."
