Lavitola from prison: "The attack was my own choice. Ranucci is a brother, and I regret having gotten him into trouble."
The lawyer: "We're evaluating whether it's necessary to supplement the August 12th confession in preparation for the preliminary hearing." Meanwhile, the journalist announces he'll file lawsuits over the publication of the salaries of Report journalists: "These figures are false and inflated."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
"We have established that Lavitola will make spontaneous statements to the Review Court, which will be held next week . We believe that his confession has made an enormous contribution to the investigation . Imagine if Lavitola had not confessed anything, how much harm would have been done to the investigation, which was still based on mere evidence." This is what lawyer Arturo Cola , representing the businessman detained for being the instigator of the attack on Sigfrido Ranucci, said after the conversation he had with him in Rebibbia prison.
Last week, during his preliminary hearing before the investigating judge, Lavitola admitted to instigating the attack that took place last October outside the home of journalist and Report host Sigfrido Ranucci, claiming he did so to increase his level of security.
"The choice to carry out the attack was his alone, his own initiative," Cola added, also specifying that "Lavitola is certainly experiencing a difficult psychological state, because through his own choice he has caused trouble for two people who are like a son to him, Gomes, and like a brother to him, Ranucci." Cola clarified that the man is therefore "regretful of having put people he cares about in trouble."
That morning, before entering the interview, the lawyer also recalled: " We believe that Lavitola warned Ranucci about the risk of attacks before the events of October 16th. There was, in fact, a meeting on September 7th during which Lavitola likely warned Ranucci of the dangers he faced due to possible attacks. This was therefore a month and a half before the actual attack." And when asked, upon leaving Rebibbia prison, why the journalist hadn't spoken to investigators about the risks of possible attacks feared by Lavitola, Cola clarified: "He believes that Ranucci considered the matter unimportant, addressed it superficially, and didn't pay attention to him. So perhaps that's why Ranucci didn't report anything about this aspect to investigators."
Ranucci, meanwhile, announces that he will file complaints over the publication of the salaries of Report journalists , which the host claims are "false" and "artificially inflated figures that do not indicate the individual remuneration of the individual correspondents at all, but rather the total expenses incurred for the production of the individual reports."
