Siena continues to rain, prompting another postponement of the Palio.

The Palio di Siena has been postponed for the second consecutive year. The Palio in honor of the Madonna dell'Assunta, which was traditionally scheduled for August 16th, will not be held today either.

Yesterday, however, due to a downpour that hit the city in the afternoon, the stop came.

Twenty-four hours weren't enough to dry the tuff in Piazza del Campo: this morning the rain continued to fall heavily. Hence the decision to fly the green flag from the triple-lancet windows of the Palazzo Pubblico.
