Yet another massacre of migrants in the Mediterranean .

A Coast Guard patrol boat rescued a boat carrying eight dead bodies in Maltese Sar waters. The military took the survivors, 46 Africans, and the bodies to the Lampedusa pier.

Three women were among the eight victims, one of whom was pregnant. They would have died of hunger and cold, the survivors reported, all soaking wet, cold and dehydrated .

It doesn't end there, there are also two missing and the survivors reported that there was a woman on the boat with her 4-month-old baby who died of the cold during the journey. Out of desperation, his mother threw him into the sea. A man jumped into the water in an attempt to recover the body but drowned . A few hours later, the child's mother also died, one of the eight bodies found in the hull.

The migrants told cultural mediators that they left Sfax, Tunisia, at 3am last Saturday in the 6-metre boat. Yesterday evening it was a group of fishermen who spotted the boat 42 miles from Lampedusa and alerted the rescuers.

The Prosecutor of Agrigento has opened an investigation into the matter. The hypotheses of crime, currently against unknown persons, are aiding and abetting illegal immigration and death as a consequence of another crime .

«I address an appeal to the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni. The Government does not leave us alone to manage this terrible tragedy. Help us, in this way we can no longer manage » said the mayor of the Pelagie, Filippo Mannino.
